Research shows that optimizing sleep schedules can have a measurable impact on energy usage. For example, getting 7–8 hours of sleep instead of staying up late can reduce energy consumption by limiting the use of electronics and artificial lighting, which in turn lowers CO2 emissions.
On average, reducing one hour of screen time or electricity usage per night can save up to 30 kWh annually, which translates to a reduction of about 20-25 kg of CO2 emissions.
